This year the company plans to roll out a standard recycling programme across sites. Factories have already reduced waste going to landfill by 70 per cent and separate all plastic, cardboard, aluminum and wood for recycling. But practices aren’t consistent. A single, national contract with Climate Neutral supplier ACM is now going ahead
Recycling helps the environment because it reduces waste being incinerated or going to landfill. Both incineration and rotting rubbish in landfill can release greenhouse gases. It also uses less energy to recycle products than to make new ones.
ACM's consistent approach to recycling across Britvic sites will include providing all sites with 'recycling banks' to replace current desk-side bins. Personal bins and waste will become employees' responsibility, aiming to encourage everyone to reduce the amount of waste they produce.
Did you know that Britvic has saved 330 tonnes of PET through lightweighting its Robinsons bottles and 50 tonnes of cardboard by reducing the material in its display trays
